The Kauai Museum Comments Off

When you think of Hawaii, your mind instantly wanders to beautiful waterfalls and clear, blue water. But Hawaii is also home to a variety of culturally rich museums, such as the Kauai Museum on the island of Kauai.Located on Rice St., in the town of Lihue, the Museum’s exhibits tell the history of the island. One such exhibit is the Story of Kauai, which is a two floor showcase in the Rice building. A focus on the origins of Kauai, including its natural history and its people, can be found on the first floor. Hawaii is home to breathtaking landscapes and a rich cultural history. One way to really experience Hawaiian culture is by attending a luau.

One of the most popular luaus is the Luau Kalamaku, located on the Kilohana sugar plantation. An amazing show, this luau provides cultural activities, varying from crafts to games, and a delicious Hawaiian feast. The show itself tells the story of Hawaiian migration, focusing on “one family’s courageous voyage from Tahiti to Hawaii; a passionate tale of life, love and devotion” (Luau Kalamaku website).
